Modern Warfare 3 is laying down guns and going all-in on the Hunger Games vibes with a bow, arrow, and a spear.

Who really enjoys using RPGs? Are rockets and bullets a bit boring now? I mean, we've been shooting the same weapons for nine months already, and that annual Call of Duty pattern has been replicated for over two decades.

Bullets are boring, so why not lay down the M4s and AKs to pick up archery and spearfishing instead?  Well, that's the spirit of Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 Reloaded, as the title's penultimate season trades advanced military weapon for the good old Hunger Games-like bows, arrows, and spears.

TimTheTatman shows off new Hunger Games feature

Albeit with a few oversized jokes like Hungry Games and Robin' Food, popular content creator Tim "TimTheTatman" Betar has been showing off the new weapons added to MW3.

The Torque 35 launcher is a new bow that can be equipped with various ammo types that change its performance. TimTheTatman took to X (formerly) Twitter to showcase his prowess as a Katniss Everdeen clone, slinging arrows into his enemies and racking up quite a hefty killstreak in the process.

Betar showed off how quick and powerful the weapon can be. VALORANT fans might even spy some Sova action here as one arrow has a snapshot scan feature, revealing enemy locations.

Hunting equipment is taking over from guns in Call of Duty

Other players have opted for different weapons from the Hunger Games' cornucopia, instead choosing something cut more from Finnick Odair's Catching Fire arsenal.

While not quite the trident that Sam Claflin's character wields in the third Quarter Quell, the new Spear (designed for fishing, actually) in Modern Warfare 3 has already proven popular on Warzone. Players have been harnessing the camouflage of a ghillie suit and lurking in bushes before spearing foes to death.

The spear also has a hilarious death action: Once impaled, it pins foes against surfaces before the spear de-spawns, and the corpse bundles to the ground.

Guns are out, and hunting equipment is in. Now, we just need our Peeta Mellark duo to cosy up to. With any luck, we might even get a full Hunger Games mode in Warzone, where guns are completely forgotten, and players have nothing but bows and arrows, knives, and spears.
