For the small map enjoyers out there and the Hardcore fans among us, this news is for you. With Modern Warfare 3 Season 4 just around the corner, another wave of weapon balances is coming, following on from those which put an end to the annoying Tonfa...kind ofÂ
But this latest update, due next week, will finally put an end to the most-hated weapon in the game over the last six months, as Sledgehammer Games finally agrees to nerf the RGL-80.
RGL-80 to be nerfed in MW3 Season 4
The RGL-80 Grenade Launcher has been a misery for anyone playing Shipment or Hardcore, as the good old noob tubers out there spam the launcher across maps with a lot of success. It takes little skill and causes mass destruction, making a lot of playlists completely unbearable.
For many, it's thankful that Season 4 is ending its reign. Taking to a nonchalant Reddit comment, Sledgehammer Games has revealed that "adjustments for the RGL-80 are coming," although it's not quite sure what the details of the nerfs are just yet.
RGL-80 nerfs are music to the ears of Hardcore players
There is a small catch, though, and that these nerfs will only be "hardcore specific". This suggests that the nerfs will only affect its damage output in Hardcore playlists, rather than game-wide.
"Nerf it to the damn ground. Those scum spamming it need to sit down," said one hopeful (and angry) fan. "Geez, [its] about time, that thing has been a nightmare, especially on the smaller maps," another added.
The nerfs might not be good enough, as other fans are still insisting that the entire weapon should be removed from Hardcore, just like how Ranked Play restricts certain items. At least it's a start.
