Sledgehammer Games has always had a soft spot for its believed Advanced Warfare, having found a lot of success in the Call of Duty series with its jetpack title.
And it seems that the developers are quite keen on combining the future with the modern day, as Advanced Warfare collaborations have been leaked for future Modern Warfare 3 seasons.
Now, just a few weeks into Season 2, more Advanced Warfare content has been spotted in Modern Warfare 3 as leaks continue to point towards a crossover season.
Leakers share 'Advanced Warfare' content from upcoming MW3 update
Sledgehammer Games almost brought us an Advanced Warfare sequel this year, before having its arm twisted to get behind a Modern Warfare 3 title, but that hasn't stopped it from opening up the archives and using the live-service model to give us another slice of what the future looks like in its eyes.
Previous leaks have eluded to an entire Season within MW3 dedicated to Advanced Warfare, and as the rumoured point of entry that is Season 3 nears, leakers have now released an image of what appears to be an AW gun primed and ready to use.
Emerging on Reddit, one player has revealed a "glassless optic", akin to that of the MK3 Reflector, which appears to be synonymous with futuristic guns.
MW3 fans unsure on rumoured Advanced Warfare collaboration
The red dot sight looks rather similar to those who used weapons like the BAL in AW, and given the weapon is leaked to arrive in Season 3, it appears to be confirmation of what is to come.
However, the new optic isn't arriving with a warm reception. Instead, popular comments like, "I'll keep my MK3 Reflector," and "So a version of the MK3 that isn't nearly as clean? I'll pass," were high up on the ranks on Reddit.
It is only one optic sight though, which will likely be able to be un-equipped should the rumoured AW content land, and there will be plenty more variety if leaks are to be believed.
