More Metroid Games Reportedly On The Way To Switch
Though the shock launch of Metroid Prime Remastered was a jolt of serotonin felt across the world for dedicated gamers and casuals alike, for some, it was confusing.
For some time now, it's been rumoured that the entire trilogy of Metroid Prime games would be remastered in the runup to Metroid Prime 4, which has been going through enough development trouble to justify the whole trilogy's return in the interim.
So, where is it? It's great to see the first game back, alive and kicking, but some dedicated fans are already waiting for the next steps. And supposedly, they're still on their way.
Metroid Prime 2 & 3 May Still Come To Switch
For a while, leakers and insiders have maintained that all three existing mainline Metroid Prime games would be coming to Switch, and the reveal of Metroid Prime Remastered has thrown these claims into the aether.
As we sit and wait, one insider holds firm in his belief that they're still coming. Jeff Grubb has responded to a Tweet that implies that Metroid Prime 2 and 3 are still coming, but perhaps not with the new lick of paint that the first game received.
Referencing a GiantBomb clip on Twitch, Twitter user Max Wright says, "When @JeffGrubb first spoke about Metroid Prime Remastered, he also said that his understanding was that Prime 2 & 3 would also be on their way, just not fully remastered."
"Correct," adds Grubb in a quote tweet. Interesting.
When Could Metroid Prime 2 & 3 Come To Switch?
Right now, we can only guess when the two games will land on Switch, but there are two options that Nintendo could take to.
The gaming giant can either elect to release the games individually or as a bundle before the launch of Metroid Prime 4. Another option would be to add them to the Nintendo Switch Online packs if they choose to add GameCube and Wii games to the service.
Whatever it is that Nintendo chooses to do, the arrival of a Metroid trilogy (in whatever form) will surely be met with a lot of love. GameCube games aren't that common on Switch, so Nintendo would skyrocket in fans' books. Come on, Samus, Get a move on.
