If you're looking for competitive matches that push your skills to the limit in Modern Warfare 2, then you need to be playing Ranked.

The mode gives players a chance to earn SR and progress through the tiers, raising the stakes of every gunfight you engage in.

Of course, in order for Ranked to be fair and maintain a strong level of integrity, every competitor needs to be on a level playing field.

Unfortunately, a new form of cheating is completely compromising this, which involves hackers kicking players out of MW2 Ranked matches with the click of a button.

Hackers are ruining Ranked in Modern Warfare 2

Popular Call of Duty Twitter account ModernWarzone shared a clip of content creator LunchTime being kicked out of a MW2 Ranked match due to hackers.

The cheaters are seemingly able to disconnect any player in a lobby with a click of a button, completely ruining the experience for competitors.

After being removed from the Ranked match by no fault of their own, LunchTime received a 30-minute suspension and -100 SR.

This means competitors are being heavily punished due to the actions of hackers, and if this becomes a frequent issue, it risks completely sabotaging the competitive integrity of MW2 Ranked.

Why is RICOCHET anti-cheat not banning these MW2 cheaters?

Although RICOCHET detects and bans hackers on a regular basis, the third-party software being used to cheat grows more and more advanced every day.

As a result, the devs are in a constant battle to keep their systems up to date but unfortunately, the ability to kick other players from matches seems to have slipped through the cracks.

This certainly isn’t a minor problem and will need to be addressed, especially if this specific cheat becomes more widespread.

Let’s hope Activision is willing to dedicate more resources to improving the anti-cheat in the lead-up to Season 5, or there’s a chance of even more backlash from the Ranked community.
