You'd be quite entitled to feel a little bit hoodwinked by the lack of remastered content in Modern Warfare 2.
We weren't actively promised a whole catalogue of maps and guns from the 2009 variant of the game, but leaks and data mines insinuated that a wealth of content would be spruced up and re-released to suit the modern-day Call of Duty experience.
However Infinity Ward chooses to implement its throwback content to Warzone, there are likely to be those angry gamers who have something to say. It's much to the dismay of Modern Warfare 2 hopefuls, who are continuously let down by the devs.
Promising a roadmap of content tied to the beloved 2009 Modern Warfare 2 is all well and good, but we're yet to see it come into platy. Now MW2 (2023) fans feel "trolled" by the developers who released a classic map montage, using the Al Mazrah POIs.

Akin to how Cold War implemented the best of Black Ops, such as Raid, Slums, Standoff, and Hijacked, MW2 fans wanted Highrise, Terminal, Afghan, and Quarry to be playable as multiplayer maps and relive their childhood.
But while all of these weren't added to MW2, they did find themselves in Al Mazrah. Following the latest addition of the Intervention, Call of Duty has promoted a classic map montage - taking the sniper around these locations to revisit 2009.
Unfortunately, the promo hasn't quite had the effect that it hoped to, and fans have slammed the content for mocking multiplayer and being misleading about Modern Warfare 2.

The promo video has only angered players, with fans taking to Reddit to demand the developers to "ADD THE MAPS TO MULTIPLAYER". Yep, upper case, they're shouting!
"Three seasons in and going on the fourth and still no Terminal, no Favela, no Afghan, and no Highrise, but we did get a s**tty remake of Estate," said one angered fan."SUCH bulls**t we didn't get any of these and now they're just toying with us with this. What in the hell?" added another.
A third called IW out and claimed, "Lowkey I feel that they are drip feeding the content until it gets really bad in terms of player population, once it hits the low they’ll drop these maps and possibly more milsim ops to get people to comeback."
Many fans have theorised that the MW2 sequel that is coming with Call of Duty 2023 will house some of these maps, given the limited development time. Then again, given it will cost another $60/£60, reliving the nostalgia might not be worth it...
