MW2 Fans Are Stealing Double XP Tokens From Jack Link's Jerky

Jack Link's didn't learn from the Dorito disaster of '12, and apparently, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fans are stealing double XP tokens.

Activision's mass launch of Modern Warfare 2 has hit astronomical figures, smashing its way through the economic ozone layer to break the record for the softest landing in Call of Duty history - netting an all-time high of $800 million in the opening weekend.

This couldn't have been achieved without a huge push into the wider media, though. Call of Duty collaborated with a wealth of colossal brands like Mountain Dew, Papa John's, and Jack Link's.

However, the latter jerky brand might have bitten off more than it can chew, and after not learning from the Dorito disaster of 2012, Modern Warfare 2 fans are just stealing the promotion between the two.

Modern Warfare 2 Fans Steal Double XP Tokens

Jack Link's collab with Modern Warfare 2 sees players get rewarded with Double XP tokens for purchasing a pack of its jerky. However, unlike Papa Johns, whose 2XP tokens are printed on the receipt, or Mountain Dew, whose codes are printed inside the multi-box, Jack Link's provided stickers on the front of the packaging. A big mistake.

Now, fans are simply peeling off the stickers in-store and leaving the jerky behind for some poor Call of Duty and dry bacon lover to pick up a bonus-less snack.

Full racks of Jack Link's codes have been found to be nabbed from packets. The codes offer an operator skin and a Double XP token (not to be confused with Weapon XP).

Modern Warfare 2 Fans Steal XP Yet Again

This isn't the first time Call of Duty fans have been caught stealing promotional content from brands. Doritos originally started its partnership in a similar fashion by printing the codes on the outside of its packaging. This only led to fans taking pictures of the crisps, before placing them back on the shelves, going home, and entering the codes with a full wallet.

Jack Link's might now have to take some lessons from Doritos and revisit the promotion, maybe printing the stickers on the inside of their jerky packets. Modern Warfare 2 fans shouldn't be encouraged to steal these codes, though, as they can be hooked for shoplifting. A bit of Double XP isn't worth a night in the cells.
