While the majority of the Modern Warfare 2 community is always on the hunt for the next top-tier meta weapon, some players opt for a different approach.
Instead of creating their loadouts with a trusty AR, SMG or LMG, they prefer to utilise the infamous Riot Shield to block all incoming damage and frustrate their opponents.
Although this strategy can be effective, it has garnered Riot Shield fans a reputation for being 'annoying' as taking them down can be such a chore.
Well, in the hopes of bringing down Riot Shields players for good, one MW2 player has shared an effective technique that makes killing them extremely simple.
How to kill Riot Shield players in Modern Warfare 2
And this is how you deal with riot shield users
by u/___The_Hjonkening___ in ModernWarfareII
Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user The_Hjonkening showcased one of the most effective ways to deal with Riot Shields in multiplayer.
Equipped with a shotgun in the clip, they leave a building and come face-to-face with a player hidden behind their Riot Shield.
Instead of pulling out a Semtex or attempting to get behind the Riot Shield, The_Hjonkening simply runs up and jumps towards the enemy, allowing them to land an easy headshot.
As Riot Shield players are so used to their opponents utilising explosives, this aggressive tactic will likely catch them off-guard, especially if you have a shotgun in hand.
MW2 fans share more ways to dispatch 'annoying' Riot Shields
As you would expect, MW2 fans took the time in the thread to share their own methods of dealing with Riot Shields, including thermites, drill charges, and grenade launchers.
One player even shared that they always run Overkill and a Crossbow with explosive bolts as it's "way easier to shoot a bolt at a shield than it is to hit them with a thermite or sticky."
Either way, it's clear the community appreciated The_Hjonkening's suggestion and praised them for "doing the lord's work." So, if you're tired of running into Riot Shields in MW2 multiplayer, consider testing out these techniques. It should make your life a lot easier against those pesky Shielders.
