Old-school Call of Duty players hate the new movement kids. Years of exo suits, slide cancelling, and bunny-hopping have driven them into insanity.

Modern Warfare 2 has done quite an ample job at nerfing advanced movement, after breaking slide cancelling, but boots-on-the-ground fans still aren’t satisfied. Now, the old guard is calling on Infinity Ward to take action against bunny-hopping.

Bunny-hopping, or the form of jumping twice consecutively, has always been in Call of Duty, with the second jump being faster than any other repetitions, making jump-shotting a good way of countering campers on head glitches.

But it's soon evolved into the hallmark of a sweaty player, as years of movement changes have removed the vertical weapon sway that used to serve as a penalty.

After comparing footage of Black Ops 1, MWII (2009), and Modern Warfare 2 (2023), the difference in weapon away is drastic, and old-school players want it reverted.

As seen on Reddit, players have asked for the guns to bob much more violently in MW2, akin to have they did over a decade ago. "They need to bring back that landing sway," said one fan.

"Who the f**k actually wants this bunny jumping around corners s**t?" added another fan. Others went even further, with one saying, "I'd just completely remove the ability to jump. All you need to be able to do is climb obstacles/ladders.

"There are literally zero reasons anyone would be jumping around in the middle of a firefight… It’s dumb and people look dumb doing it."

The developers have managed to nerf sliding into the ground, which has pleased the old-school gamers who played CoD in an era where there was no sliding at all, but a jump-shot nerf could only come into play if a huge increase in ADS time and strafe speeds came in as a balance.
