MW2 players have a problem with the game's TTK

After filling in a survey from the devs, Modern Warfare 2 players have revealed they want a slower TTK that’s similar to Black Ops Cold War.

Time-to-kill is one of the most hotly debated topics in Call of Duty, with every player having a different opinion on how quickly they should be able to take down a foe.

If it's too quick, it’s a frustrating experience for anyone being shot, as it feels like there's no counterplay. On the other hand, if the TTK is too slow, multiplayer matches lose their fast-paced nature and guns don't feel particularly impactful.

So, when a pop-up survey in MW2 appeared asking players for their opinion on the TTK, it's safe to say there was a wide variety of replies. However, the majority of fans believe the TTK needs to go back to the days of Black Ops Cold War.

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user u/yungmiaw showcased a poll that appeared in-game, asking them, "Based on the match you just played, what do you think of the amount of time it takes to kill an enemy when engaged in a fight?"

As you would expect, this survey sparked a vocal response from the community, with the majority of players arguing that MW2’s TTK is "too fast."

A lot of fans made it clear that they thought "Cold War has a great TTK" and that they wish that "was the standard" for MW2 as well. This is because in Cold War, "You can actually run away if you start getting shot," rather than just getting instantly deleted.

Other users made it clear that they "wouldn't know what to choose," as constant packet loss makes it hard to even track what the base TTK feels like. As a result, they would rather the devs focus on fixing the server and connection issues.

Why is Activision polling fans' opinion on MW2’s TTK?

With the recent TTK changes to Warzone, it's possible the devs are considering altering the time-to-kill in MW2 multiplayer as well. However, with Call of Duty 2023 on the horizon, one user believes "they are probably using this data for MW3 2023 and not for MW2 2022."

This would make sense, as getting a consensus on the TTK ahead of the game's release will put the devs in a good position ahead of launch to please as many people as possible.

Either way, it's great to see Activision taking feedback directly from the fans, rather than pushing out changes and waiting for a response from the community.
