The original Modern Warfare 2 released all the way back in 2009 and was one of the most iconic titles in the entire Call of Duty franchise. From the long list of weapons, to the incredible maps, the shooter captured the attention of millions of players and made countless long-time CoD fans.

Of course, one of the best aspects of the MW2 (2009) was the brilliant sound design. To this day, players will recognise the bolt action shot of the Intervention or the deadly gunfire of the silenced UMP45.

As a result, it was no surprise that Infinity Ward is planning on releasing a throwback weapon audio pack at some point in Season 3. Well, a leaker has revealed all of the gun sounds coming with this bundle...and fans are not impressed at all.

MW2 throwback sound bundle slammed for being inaccurate

Call of Duty leaker JoneoCOD managed to uncover the '09 throwback weapon audio ahead of its release and shared the sounds on Twitter. The bundle includes a modifier for the ISO Hemlock, which is meant to sound like the ACR, and the Lachmann Sub, which should sound like the OG MP5.

Unfortunately, players aren't convinced they sound accurate, with one user claiming, "I am shocked by the fact that this does not sound like the original guns AT ALL."

Another argued, "If this is really the throwback pack... they screwed this up lol," and one even went as far to say, "Who would buy this?"

It's also obvious that fans aren't impressed with the selection of guns chosen because 'the fact that they didn't do the Scar, AK, Intervention, etc is just so meh for a "throwback" pack.'

When is the throwback weapon audio releasing in MW2?

Currently, there's no specific release date for the throwback weapon audio bundle in MW2, but the blog does reveal that it's coming at some point in Season 3.

It's also impossible to know how much the OG sounds are going to cost in the store, but based on the reception to the leak, it'll be interesting to see if the devs decide to tweak the audio before it's released.
