Modern Warfare 2 Season 6 has arrived, and while the array of impressive Halloween cosmetics have been getting a lot of praise, it's the weapon balance changes that have grabbed the attention of the community.

As expected, the immensely popular Kastov 762 and M13B were hit with nerfs, giving other AR options a chance to contend.

One change that has caught competitors completely off-guard is more buffs for the SA-B 50 Marksmen Rifle. Despite already being a strong pick, the devs felt the need to boost its power to the next level.

A lot of CoD fans think this was a mistake, arguing it's going to be an "OP" multiplayer option in the Season 6 meta.

MW2 players argue SA-B 50 is OP & didn't need more buffs

Taking to the ModernWarfareII subreddit, user Dunmer_of_Skyrim decided to voice their confusion over the choice to buff the SA-B 50 once again in Season 6.

In the patch, the Markmen Rifle's sprint out time, ADS time, damage range, and moving hip spread were all improved. This has caused a lot of concern among MW2 fans, who have predicted the weapon is going to take over multiplayer.

In the hands of a skilled player, this gun is capable of completely dominating a match due to its unbeatable ADS time. With these buffs as well, fans think it's going to be absurdly strong.

"Ah yes, the marksman rifle that already aimed in faster than a pistol received ads speed, damage, and movement buffs... Can't wait to play against even more sweats," said one user, with another arguing, "The SA-B already turned the game into a point-and-click adventure, why buff it."

How popular is the SA-B 50 in MW2?

Currently, according to WZRanked the SA-B 50 only has a 0.6% pick rate, which is a long way behind the SP-R 208 in first at 3.5%.

Only time will tell whether the SA-B 50 becomes a staple in the MW2 meta and takes over in Season 6, but it's clear a lot of players are concerned the devs have boosted its power a little too much.

If you're looking to carry your matches and secure a few more kills, it may be worth mastering the weapon before everyone else catches on.
