It's time for the remastered maps to continue pouring out. One thing that we've learned in recent years is that post-launch Call of Duty content scarcely involves "new" maps... just more of the same.

Already in Modern Warfare 2, we've seen Shoot House and Shipment clog up both slots in what appears to be Infinity Ward's two-tap approach to adding more maps to the game, and it's leaked that Castle will be the main focus behind Season 2.

Even though the Vanguard variant sucked, Castle will be returning to the franchise again, but what else? Well, fans have now identified one other map that would be perfect for Modern Warfare 2: Mission.

MW2 Fans Want 'Mission' To Be Remastered

Mission blended into the background in the original Modern Warfare trilogy, coming in the third title of the series and being eclipsed by the likes of Dome and Resistance.

However, Modern Warfare 2 fans think that the African colonial settlement would make for a great map to remaster. Mainly because it differs from the same old content we get year after year.

The map was very much the unsung hero of Modern Warfare 3, yet it played very well on all objective game modes from Domination to Capture the Flag.

With three lanes coming at different heights, much of the focus is weighed on the elevated middle sector of Mission, but it also allows for fun team-based flanks that encourage snipers, ARs, and SMGs to use their categories to the best of their ability.

Should Mission Be Remastered For MW2?

After a Reddit post injected a massive blast of nostalgia into fans, the comments began pouring in, agreeing that Mission was an all-time great and would make for a good MW2 design.

"This was my favourite map on MW3. Good spawns, great lines of sight for both sides," said one fan. Another added, "This is my all-time favourite map. May god have mercy on you all if this comes back."

Some did joke that there are not enough doors and windows for Infinity Ward even to consider this map, but ahead of the Year 2 content that should be a collection of all-time fan-favourite maps, Mission might get the all-clear then.
