It's been quite a fun few months playing on the remastered maps in MW3. Some of the classics have actually lived up to the hype, other less-nostalgic ones have become popular in the modern day, and others have tarnished legacies.
Either way, it's been a breath of fresh air to relive those glory days, with a few new designs in the mix to keep things ticking over.
But not every map has been moved over from 2009, and current CoD fans want the rest of them.
MW3 players spy the next wave of remastered maps
Akin to how the Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps have all populated MW3 so far this year, fans of the franchise have now eyed some popular historical battlegrounds that they want to see reimagined for the new multiplayer experience, and they come from the same era.
Taking to a popular thread on Reddit, one fan has submitted a social "Petition for Sledgehammer to add the original MW2 DLC maps to the game."
The MW2 DLC maps that the Reddior notes include Trailer Park, Fuel, and Carnival, all of which were popular additions to the likes of Highrise and Rust back in the day.
MW3 fans rally behind petition for more 2009 content
Rallying behind the post, a string of fans agreed.
"I'd like to see all these back as well. I wish there was a mode for just the OG maps. For FFA and TDM more than the modes it has now," said one fan.
Others chimed in for specific maps such as Storm and Salvage.
"I've been begging for Bailout for months," another fan added.
There's also a whole host of fans who want to see Sledgehammer really open up its archives and take a stab at the old MW3 (2011) maps instead, reliving the namesake title that we're currently on.
