Weapon and Operator skins in Call of Duty are where Activision make most of its money, so it's no surprise its constantly looking to raise the bar in terms of quality.

Collaborations with the likes of Dune, The Boys, and even mainstream celebrities like 21 Savage have kept the community's eyes firmly fixed on the store.

Of course, these cosmetics are not cheap, but players are willing to pay hefty amounts if the designs are good enough.

Well, another eye-catching store bundle has once again captured the attention of fans, and this time it comes in the form of a creepy X-Ray camo.

MW3 players love "badass" X-Ray weapon skin

Typically in Modern Warfare 3, the standout camos tend to be the most popular, unless they're blindingly bright like Royalty Tiger.

X-Ray was recently released onto the Call of Duty store and it's being celebrated by MW3 players for being one of the most "badass" looking skins you can get hold of. With a dark base colour, the design features light blue X-Ray images of bones that are both creepy and "creative."

While it probably would have sold best at Halloween, it's still caught the eye of fans who have been showering it with praise.

"Say what you want about this game, but the camos are so sick this year," said one user, with another claiming "That’s probably the hardest skin I’ve ever seen in CoD."

Other CoD fans miss Black Ops 2's cheap universal camos

X Ray came MW3

While the majority of Modern Warfare 3 players love the X-Ray skin, they dislike the fact it can only be used on the Striker-9 and the Haymaker. This limits when the camo can be used, as if these weapons aren't meta, you're forced to use a sub-par gun.

This has led CoD fans to reminisce on the Black Ops 2 days when you could buy a universal camo for $2 and apply it to every weapon in the arsenal.

"Remember when you could get universal camos for $2 in BO2? Bacon, Pack-a-Punch, $100 bills, you name it... Those were the good times."

Unfortunately, though, those days are long gone and now you'll struggle to purchase any skin in the store for less than £10.
