MW3 fans claim desync issues are making it 'impossible' to win gunfights

Modern Warfare 3 fans argue desync issues are making it 'impossible' to win gunfights and 'killing the experience' in multiplayer.

Despite its flaws, Modern Warfare 3's biggest strength is that it transports you back to the days of MW2 (2009) with the game's incredible remastered maps. Whether it's sniper-infested Wasteland, fan-favorite Highrise, or the outright chaos of Rust, it's nostalgia at its best.

However, environments are only one piece of the puzzle, so how does the gunplay feel? On the whole, gameplay feedback has been immensely positive, but one problem is "killing the experience" for fans. According to players, this comes in the form of major desync issues that are making it "impossible" to win gunfights.

Desync issues are 'killing the experience' for MW3 players

Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user _THORONGII_ decided to ask the rest of the community whether their TTK feels inconsistent, but they somehow "die instantly" whenever they are shot.

For them, the skirmishes in MW3 "feel extremely off," and this wasn't the case in the Beta, so they're convinced desync may be to blame. They're not alone in this theory, with countless players revealing that their shots simply aren't registering.

"The desync is crazy, something feels way, way off," said one user, with another complaining, "Yeah it’s killing the experience for me... Has always been an issue with COD but it seems especially bad in this game, I'm getting shot behind cover, and I’m emptying a clip into someone only for them to whip around and 2-shot me."

This is a huge concern for CoD players who want every match to be a fair and competitive experience. Not only that, this will definitely need to be ironed out before Ranked Play goes live in the middle of Season 1.

MW3 community demands Sledgehammer fix 'garbage' servers

MW3 Operator stood next to tank

For another portion of the community, there's only one culprit for inconsistencies in the gunplay, and that's the "garbage" servers.

"Servers are garbage, If I play middle of the day every bullet connects, TTK matches and it's great, playing during peak hours and I've got packet burst constantly," said one user, with another arguing, "I don't know if it's the servers or SBMM but its WILDLY inconsistent and really makes playing frustrating."

Desync and server issues are a major concern for any FPS title, especially one that's being hit so hard on the ratings front. Let's hope Sledgehammer can address this as soon as possible, or the MW3 backlash is almost guaranteed to get worse.
