MW3 fans hit out at ‘lazy CDL pros’ for ruining Ranked

Modern Warfare 3 fans are criticising the Call of Duty League pros for being 'too lazy' to test out new Ranked maps.

Modern Warfare 3's Ranked mode has come under quite a lot of flak in recent weeks, with players getting a bit tired of the same-old format and the quality (or lack of) of maps damaging the competitive title.

The esports-like mode in Call of Duty is one of the most popular playlists, giving players the ammunition to replicate the professional scene to the best of their ability and serve as a pipeline for talent to emerge.

But some players are now calling for a separation from the model that directly comes from the Call of Duty League, as the map pools and weapon restrictions are beginning to harm the experience.

Modern Warfare 3 fans blame 'lazy CDL pros' for poor Ranked maps

As of Season 2, MW3 Ranked's map pool has been handed a well-needed update, as the Call of Duty League professionals have removed Terminal Hardpoint and added Rio Hardpoint and Search and Destroy.

But, the two new Season 2 maps are also "built for competitive play", and the only reason that they have not been added to the Ranked map pool yet is that the elite pros have not found the time to test out their competitive value as they prepare for the CDL Major 2.

Now, in a rant that also targeted Treyarch, some players are criticising the "lazy" players for not testing Vista and Departures in time for them to be added to Ranked.

"We just got 2 new great-looking maps in Departures and Vista but Treyarch won't add them because lazy pro CDL players haven't tested the map yet," one angered fan said in a popular Reddit thread.

"So we are stuck playing laughable maps for ranked like Terminal and Highrise," they added.

MW3 players want Treyarch to stop following the CDL for Ranked rules

The popular Reddit thread has called on Treyarch to make their own rules or commit to separating from the CDL some more, given that they already allow some variation from the Gentleman's Agreement.

"Also very funny how they follow every CDL rule but leave snipers in, something pro players in the league don't have to deal with. So they pick and choose what rules to follow," they continued, now turning the attention to the "disappointing" Treyarch.

"Treyarch needs to grow a pair and start making decisions about ranked. [You] can very easily test new maps with ex-pros. Call Scump to test Vista with Parasite or whatever. I'm sure they would love to help out. Take real ownership of the mode."

The professional community has been open to admitting that they will be testing Vista, at least, after Major 2 and then Departures if the gap between the circuit's events allows for it.

That would leave us with another major update for Season 2 Reloaded or Season 3 at least, freshening the pool up the same way that Himmelmatt Expo did last year.
