Small maps have become the bread and butter of Call of Duty multiplayer, with many players only jumping on the annual releases to dive into the Shipment 24/7 playlists and whoever other mpa is accompanying it.
Over the years we've seen Shipment get paired with Shoot House, Nuketown, Das Haus, and most recently, Rust, and players love it every year.
But in Modern Warfare 3, one small feature was ruining players' time on the map, until Sledgehammer Games came in clutch by removing it as of January 12.
Modern Warfare 3 fans cry 'hallelujah' at new QoL change
In its most recent update, Sledgehammer Games has removed the weapon check animation at the start of every life, instead, it will only occur at the start of the game, or round, or upon command via the weapon inspections.
This means players can instantly get their shots off after respawning, instead of standing still for two seconds as they take safety mode off their gun, serving as target practice on the smaller maps.
"I am now able to spawn and fight instead of dying 10 times in row from being trapped. Thank you for this QOL change," said one fan in a post on Reddit. "Hallelujah!"
MW3 'Rustment' playlist saved by QoL feature
This change came just in time for Modern Warfare 3 to roll out the "Rustment 24/7" playlist featuring Moshpit modes on both Rust and Shipment, one of the game's most popular queue-ups.
"Huge W to SHG, thanks for listening and making the change. So refreshing after a year of MWII," said another Redditor, praising the change.
Sledgehammer Games hasn't removed this for all of the maps though, as your larger landscapes like Invasion, Wasteland, and Derail will have you spawning in with your military head screwed on.
But for Rust and Meat, at least, you can finally enjoy the carnage without any unnecessary boundaries, and its obvious fans are reaping the rewards.
