The attention to detail in Modern Warfare 3 is one of the most impressive aspects of the title, especially when it comes to gunplay.

Whether it's the weapon audio, the way an Operator handles their gun, or the just remastered maps in general, it all comes together to form a solid multiplayer experience.

However, players will quickly become frustrated when these details start getting in the way of gameplay. That's exactly what's happened with weapon-check animations, which force an Operator to look at their gun for half a second after respawning.

During this time, you're unable to move and cannot fight back against foes. Well, after countless requests, the devs have finally fixed the problem and fans are over the moon.

Modern Warfare 3 devs fix frustrating weapon-check animations

Taking to Twitter on January 4, Modern Warfare 3 devs Sledgehammer Games announced that "weapon check animations will no longer play upon respawn in small map playlists."

This is brilliant news and will result in a lot fewer infuriating deaths for players, as there's nothing worse than dying immediately after a respawn.

It's worth noting that this change has only been applied to small map playlists, so you'll still see the animation on bigger maps. However, this shouldn't be an issue because no enemy should be near enough to your spawn for the weapon check to get you killed.

MW3 fans applaud Sledgehammer for "nice quality of life update"

While content updates always get the community excited, it's the quality-of-life changes that usually result in the most praise for the devs. This is certainly true of weapon checks, as competitors have been calling for them to be removed since release.

"W, hoping to see even more improvements next week and with Reloaded update," said one user, with another saying "THIS CHANGE IS GREAT!! I was close to making a post about it but y'all already on it! Love that."

With Season 1 Reloaded on the cusp of release, let's hope the devs can knock it out of the park with the brand-new additions and throw a few more quality-of-life changes in there as well.
