MW3 fans slam ‘weak’ MW2 weapons in Season 2

Modern Warfare 3 fans have slammed how "weak" MW2 weapons feel, despite the OG guns receiving a buff in Season 2.

At release, one of the most exciting aspects of Modern Warfare 3 was the fact that MW2 guns would remain in the arsenal.

In theory, this meant far more choices for Call of Duty players when it came to creating loadouts and also that fan-favourite options could be carried over like the M4.

Unfortunately, the MW2 weapons have not been thriving in the meta, and very few of them are viable picks, meaning the rankings are all dominated by MW3 guns.

While Season 2 introduced a set of buffs in an attempt to change this, MW3 fans still think the old-school guns are extremely "weak" and need more changes.

Modern Warfare 3 fans still think MW2 guns are underpowered

Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user Vexenium argued that "MWII guns should be brought up to par with MWIII guns sooner rather than later." According to them, they can't use their "favourite weapons from MWII because of how weak they are compared to the MWIII weapons."

This has been a common complaint since the release of MW3, and in the recent Season 2 patch, the devs attempted to address this by giving MW2 guns extra movement speed and aiming idle sway changes.

For a lot of fans, though, this hasn't been enough - with some even going as far as to say it feels like the MW2 guns "shoot rubber."

Some disagree, arguing that the damage is relatively even, but the main issue is the visual recoil that makes the old-school guns unusable.

MW3 players suggest ways to improve MW2 weapons

Instead of just complaining, the Modern Warfare 3 fans do have some suggestions about how Sledgehammer can bring MW2 options back into the fold. One idea is to adjust the visual recoil so it's easier to land shots on foes in multiplayer.

"Please SHG, reduce the visual recoil on MWII guns, it would open up more attachment possibilities on these weapons."

Others believe it is time the devs "buff the barrels and stocks to MW3 levels where they have more significant benefits," as the extra attachment options could elevate the MW2 guns' power.

For now, it seems as if the community will have to settle with MW3 guns or the few MW2 options that can compete, like the M13B and ISO Hemlock. Fingers crossed that the team introduces more buffs to the OG weapons soon.
