MW3 fans are tired of 'overtuned' SBMM matching them against 'sweats'

Modern Warfare 3 fans have made it clear they're tired of 'overturned' SBMM matching them against 'sweats' constantly in multiplayer.

While movement, weapon balancing, and microtransactions are all controversial topics in the Call of Duty community, nothing sparks more of a fiery debate than SBMM.

As expected, the Modern Warfare 3 Beta brought this topic to the surface once again, with competitors complaining that they're being matched against "sweats" every single match.

A lot of players just want to jump into multiplayer and have a fun experience, without being dominated by "tryhards" constantly.

While some fans describe MW3's SBMM as "overturned" and "excessive," others have gone as far as to say it should be scrapped completely.

MW3 fans demand "overtuned" SBMM is changed

Taking to Twitter on October 16, popular Call of Duty account CharlieINTEL decided to voice its opinion that SBMM is "needed in lobbies for casual players" but has been "tuned up way too much" in MW3 and has become "excessive."

In response, a lot of fans agreed, arguing they're "all for SBMM as some competition does feel nice, but not to the extent where you are playing competitive matches over and over."

While some players acknowledge that the idea of SBMM is good in theory, they claim that its implementation is "horrible" and just punishes you for performing well in-game.

Others just want more communication about how it works, claiming the developers have "never said a single word" about SBMM and as a result, it's led to "years of speculation."

Not everyone is willing to give SBMM changes a chance, with a huge portion of MW3 competitors declaring the whole system needs to be scrapped now.

"Skill-based matchmaking has ruined every single game it’s touched... There needs to be an SBMM ranked type of mode where everybody plays to sweat, and a casual mode where people can go in without SBMM," said one user, with another arguing "It’s not needed at all, just put in a ranked mode."

While Sledgehammer has been receptive to feedback about movement and spawns, it's unlikely they'll budge on SBMM. The devs have been tight-lipped about this system for a long time, and it's unlikely to change, so expect the debate to rage on through MW3's life cycle.
