Vintage is the new cool. Old music, refreshed clothes, upscaled trainers, and even retro cars are all back in fashion.
So why not use this for gun camos too?
With Modern Warfare 3 dabbling in the vintage shops to bring back the 2009 map pool, fans now want the devs to release an old-school line of weapon skins to join them.
Modern Warfare 3 fans want 2009 camos to join the maps
Now that Highrise and Co. are back as the maps for Modern Warfare 3, the old metas and fun pastimes are coming back too, as players have already been trickshotting their way through lobbies.
But one of the best parts about the new games is grinding those camo missions, often grafting to get the mastery camo in a race against friends and public opinion.
But 2009 also had some iconic camos up its sleeve, like Red Tiger and Blue Tiger, and now players are calling on Sledgehammer Games to bring them back.
Taking to Twitter, popular community figure "TheMW2Ghost" said, "It would be cool if there were a throwback camo category in MWIII with the OG MW2 camos," which came with a wealth of support.
Could Modern Warfare 3 have a "throwback camo" pack?
There's already a case for this in Modern Warfare 2, as Infinity Ward spun the nostalgic gold mine in the store by selling off the "Throwback Audio Pack", transforming certain weapons into the sounds of old, and re-introducing lobby music from 2009.
This could now open the door to a throwback camo set, filled with all of the old-school designs which will surely elevate the familiarity when chopping through the old maps.
The same could be said for the Black Ops 2024 title too, as Cherry Blossom is equally as adored by Treyarch fans.
