So far, Call of Duty's spooky crossovers have mainly been Halloween-themed, and while there's little wrong with seeing the likes of Smile and Trick 'r Treat chopping about like a Five Nights At Freddy's movie, it's not quite the scare-your-socks-off vibe that fans might've wanted.
That is until the latest battle pass was revealed. Prepare to have your skeleton screaming for an escape route out of your body, as one of the scariest movies of all time appears to be featured (unofficially) as the Tier 100 skin of Modern Warfare 3's final battle pass.
An unofficial The Ring skin primes the MW3 Season 6 battle pass
This fall is already inspiring plenty of fear, as a string of creepy crossovers are arriving in Modern Warfare 3's final season via the return of The Haunting event.
The Terrifier arrives in the Call of Duty store and is primed to strike the fear-and-funny chord, Michael Myers features as the default battle pass character armed with that mask, and a horrific three-headed Ghost joins in on the fun.
But at Tier 100 comes a long-haired and witch-looking Farah variant that puts the FK in freaky. It's not confirmed to be a direct crossover with The Ring, but looking at the curled fingers and feet, joined by the black and white variant in the BlackCell pass, there's a lot of inspiration from the 2002 horror film.
There's a bit of The Grudge in there too, which might be more in-tune for the younger audience given its 2020 re-release, but the assurance here is that the possessed Farah skin will have screams curdling from all corners of Urzikstan.
All of this spooky season leads up to Black Ops 6, where the dead will actually rise again with Zombies, continuing the horror in a different way. While this unofficial skin might be here for a short time, as Black Ops 6 will reset the cosmetics game (Warzone-aside), we're hoping some more Halloween characters are lined up for BO6's release.
