Quite surprisingly, War has become one of the most popular game modes in Modern Warfare 3, rivalling the classics like Hardpoint and Domination. It serves as quite the ample playground for camo grinders and objective enjoyers simultaneously.
But after two months of playing the same old map, the mode is starting to slow in momentum, with players getting tired of pushing that tank down the long sniper's haven.
Now, the tables are turning going into Season 2, as Modern Warfare 3 is finally getting a new War map named Operation Tin Man.
Operation Tin Man comes to MW3 War mode
In what sounds like some sort of quest for Dorothy to tap her red heels and search for with Wizard of Oz in the hope of getting a surrogate brain and some WD-40, Operation Tin Man is coming to Modern Warfare 3 on February 7 - as part of the Season 2 update.
The new map appears to be much more high-tech, as the Season 2 trailer showcases players parachuting down a missile launcher hatch to an underground facility, where eventually, parts of the map begin to be destroyed and move the teams towards the next objective.
Operation Tin Man will likely join the preexisting Operation Spearhead rather than replace it, then join it in a revolving playlist.
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 brings forth an abundance of new maps
War isn't the only recipient of new maps either, as Warzone is seeing Fortune's Keep return, and Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer is getting three new and original designs to add to the three released in Season 1.
Adding to Meat, Greece, and Rio, Sledgehammer Games will be releasing Departures, Stash House, and Vista into the map pool. It's in the hope that at least one or two of these will begin to pierce the Ranked map pool, too.
All of the content will be rolled out in Season 2 and the mid-season update in March, leaving the multiplayer game in quite a healthy spot in this new year.
