While it's true that Modern Warfare 3 may have a slower TTK than some of the previous entries, but the multiplayer is just as fast-paced and chaotic.

All the remastered MW2 (2009) maps facilitate aggressive gameplay, and the newer locations like Meat raise the bar even higher.

However, a relatively small detail is causing a lot of fans a huge amount of frustration, as it's getting them killed with no way of responding.

That being the gun cocking animation that occurs whenever you respawn, which fans have now labelled as "horrible" and called on the devs to remove.

MW3 players hate "horrible" gun cocking animation

Whenever you respawn in MW3 multiplayer, your Operator cocks their gun so it's ready for your next gunfight. Unfortunately, this animation immobilises you and means you cannot shoot any foes in your nearby area. This has resulted in countless players dying, as they're left out in the open like sitting ducks.

This is especially common on smaller maps like Rust and Shipment, where enemies can be effectively waiting at your spawn. For some players on the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, it's time this problem gets fixed or removed completely.

"I can't even pull the trigger before being killed because my operator has to spawn with an uncocked gun... I'm screaming," said one user, with another claiming "Half my deaths are on spawn because a guy is right in my face and I can’t do anything."

How can Sledgehammer fix this issue in MW3?

WSP Swarm MW3

The simplest solution for the devs would be just to remove the animation completely, or at least allow competitors to interrupt it if they choose to move instantly.

Other members of the community believe a "1-second spawn immunity" could also work, giving players the chance to move out of danger before being taken down.

Either way, cocking your gun before going on a killing spree may look cool, but if it's affecting the gameplay, it probably needs to be addressed.
