The gunplay will always be the most important aspect of a Call of Duty title, but customising weapons is fundamental to the experience as well.

Taking the time to test out different attachments and build combinations is immensely fun, but some fans felt as if this wasn't the case in Modern Warfare 2.

As the stat panels are so basic, and in some cases, completely wrong, it often requires players to use an outside source to figure out the TTK and stability details.

Well, Modern Warfare 3 fans are over the moon that Sledgehammer is bringing back detailed weapon stats, so you know exactly what each attachment brings to the table.

MW3 is bringing back detailed weapons stats in Gunsmith

Taking to Twitter on October 2, popular Call of Duty account TheGhostOfHope revealed that detailed weapon stats are coming back in MW3.

As showcased in the screenshot, players will have the option to toggle the statistics on and off in the new Gunsmith.

This is hugely important as it will allow competitors to completely refine their builds and be aware of the exact pros & cons for every single attachment.

In MW2, it often requires the community to visit an outside source that contains all the stats on a database after testing. Having it inside the Gunsmith as it has been in the past just means the customisation process is elevated to the next level.

As expected, the return of detailed weapon stats has got the CoD community extremely excited, even going as far as to say that it proves "MW2 was a beta this whole time."

Others agree, arguing that from what they've seen so far, it's clear that "MW3 is what MW2 should have been" all along.

While only a quality-of-life feature, it's got a lot of CoD fans on the edge of their seat for the next instalment, which shows how much these minor details matter.
