Going on a rampage in Modern Warfare 3 deserves to be rewarded, and that's precisely why Killstreaks exist in Call of Duty.
While a UAV will always be handy, the most exciting unlocks are the Chopper Gunner, SAE, and (of course) the Gunship. These give you access to powerful air support that can easily rack up countless kills in an instant, especially on maps with no cover like Rust, Highrise, and Derail.
Unfortunately, a major problem with these Killstreaks means players are tempted to avoid using them, as they're worried it will ruin their match.
MW3 Killstreaks are kicking players from matches
Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user xCAxSE7EN showcased themselves piloting a Chopper Gunner on Highrise. While the kills were rolling in, shortly after ending the streak and attempting to use a Carpet Bomb, they were kicked from the match for inactivity.
This "frustrating" disconnection was clearly a result of the game not recognising a player as active and moving while they're in a Killstreak. This is a serious problem because certain streaks like the Chopper Gunner and Gunship can last for long periods of time.
xCAxSE7EN's problem is not an isolated event, with another player revealing they "got kicked after an SAE kill streak, I was walking around and shooting, still was kicked WTF."
MW3 fans are not convinced this going to be fixed quickly
With countless reports of competitors being kicked during Killstreaks, Sledgehammer needs to address this as soon as possible. Well, the MW3 community is not convinced a fix will be implemented anytime and claims this will not be a priority for the devs.
"Should be a fix by Season 3. Season 4 at the latest," joked one user, with another arguing, "This game is hilariously broken, Sledgehammer is a clueless bunch."
Time will tell whether the devs have a plan to resolve this problem, but one thing is for sure, Killstreaks have to function in CoD as they're fundamental to the gameplay experience.
