Oh, it's all very confusing over at Modern Warfare 3, as Call of Duty still can't pick a lane on its merger from the current title to the road towards Black Ops 6.
Having been born off the back of the Modern Warfare 2 maps and the nostalgia that they brought, Sledgehammer Games has since opted to throw in some more legacy features, including Advanced Warfare guns and Vanguard maps.
But while some fans want Ghosts to be honoured next, it looks like Sledgehammer Games is lining up its most bizarre crossover yet with Black Ops 3.
Leakers claim Black Ops 3 characters are coming to MW3
So far, the throwback collabs have been with former Sledgehammer projects, leading players to think that WWII or Ghosts will be next.
But according to the leaker "Reality", there are three Black Ops 3 Operators lined up for Season 4 in Modern Warfare 3.
Nomad, Battery, and Reaper are all reportedly on the way and could be included in the battle pass, as leakers have also found early images of these characters' models in the files.
MW3's latest crossover could spark the fuse to Black Ops' future
Season 4's apparent Black Ops twist would fit the theme of the upcoming in-game event which is rumoured to be taking place to reveal Black Ops 6 and will also feature another historic character from that series as a reward.
All of this will lead into the suspected Call of Duty showcase later in June, which Xbox alluded to last week.
Interestingly, they chose to honour the futuristic Black Ops 3 over something more suitable to the "Modern" era like BO2, but given the already-increasing AW content in MW3 so far, why the heck shouldn't we enjoy a blast from the future?
