Although we didn't quite get the Gunsmith that we wanted in Modern Warfare 3 - despite being very, very close - one new feature saw the Armory Unlock System be rolled out.
But straight off the bat, the new challenge-based faced some criticism, with a lot of fans not understanding how the rewards system exactly works.
But even with some players now having grasped it, and continuing to critique its challenges, objective-based game mode players have now leaped to its defense and slammed the ignorant players who still refuse to capture the flags.
Modern Warfare 3 players slam "complaining" fans who ignore objectives
After many players voiced their opinions about the Armory System and its confusing process of unlocking guns and attachments, others have now claimed that simply playing the objectives of game modes is the easiest way to get the job done.
"After your 3 challenges it comes down to winning games," one player explained in a Reddit thread. "You win games by playing the objective, not by ignoring tags and having 0 caps/defends."
"Simple as that," they added. "People complaining about the Armory system are the same people running past objectives every game."
MW3 players implore teammates to play the objectives
We can all hold our hands up and say at least once we've loaded into a game of Hardpoint or Domination simply to get kills on those enemies you are flying at the flag or hill.
But that can wait until Ranked comes out and slaying becomes an actual tactic alongside anchoring for spawns.
In these casual playlists, fans are pleading with their teammates to get on the hill and they might just begin to get those challenges done quicker.
"2 minutes on the Hardpoint and still losing. Next best teammate has 8 seconds," said one fan echoing a sentiment that we're all too familiar with.
Another added, "I loathe COD gamers who rack up 50+ kills but can't even be bothered on modes like domination to capture the first point when the game starts. Not playing the objective should be punished if the player's sole purpose is to get the most kills."
Some fans did point out that in order to get your Bonus challenges, you still have to do three actual missions though, balancing the table. "Feel bad for the people trying to win games while I'm out here stuck with two separate challenges to get headshots with pistols. Maybe other people's progress shouldn't be linked to getting teamed with me, and vice versa," a further fan said.
Maybe the Armory System does have the odd quirk, but you could always just do the normal process of unlocking tools by leveling up... Just do it inside the objectives, huh?
