If you're looking to push your Call of Duty skills to the limit, there's only one mode that will meet your expectations, and that's Ranked.
Designed to create the most competitive matches and allow players to climb up through the divisions, it's perfect for fans who want to raise the stakes.
One of the biggest changes from pubs to Ranked is the restrictions on certain guns and attachments, meaning the majority of players use the same loadout.
While this is accepted by the majority of the Ranked community, some CoD fans are tired of it and think the "ridiculously restrictive" weapon pool needs to be addressed.
Modern Warfare 3 fans want more gun diversity in Ranked
Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, user Agk3los decided to ask players whether they find the "ridiculously restrictive" Ranked weapon pool fun, or if they think more guns should be viable.
In response, a set of fans argued it's a "shame [The devs] couldn't find the right balance to have a little bit of diversity," as at the moment, the MCW and the Rival-9 are dominating the pick rates. "Imagine, a world where a dev balances their game instead of only giving you 1 gun to use," joked one player sarcastically.
Not everyone agrees with this though, as a lot of Ranked fans don't play the game mode for fun, they play to win. As a result, it's key that Ranked keeps everyone on an "equal playing field" and less gun variety in their opinion is a positive thing.
Other MW3 players disagree & argue a small weapon pool is better
For hardcore Ranked players, pubs are where the fun is meant to be had, and the competitive mode is where you go if you're looking to win as well as test yourself.
"I want to play in Ranked exactly what the pros play, I want skill to be the defining factor," said one user, with another arguing, "The entire point of Ranked is to see who is better than who, it's not who knows the best gun vs who doesn't."
There may be a divide in the playerbase on this topic, but ultimately, it appears Ranked fans are satisfied with having less variety in their competitive matches.
For them, the gun in their hands isn't particularly important, it's about the accuracy and skill when using any weapon that should be the defining factor.
