The whole point of having a Beta run is to test a game engine, run it through stresses, find any bugs, and take all community feedback on how to improve the product before its full launch.

For Modern Warfare 3, there's been a lot to find out in the Beta, as the developers have already nerfed certain perks and found hackers.

But ahead of the second Beta weekend and the full launch in November, Call of Duty pros have now weighed in about what needs to change and improve to make Modern Warfare 3 an all-time classic title.

CDL pros are already divided over MW3 maps

After the first weekend of the Beta, Call of Duty's most elite players have now taken aim at the map pool in one of the most vocal critiques, as Dylan "Envoy" Hannon claimed they "Needed more maps in the Beta."

"Unlike others where we’re constantly learning the maps and game, lots of us have played these already a thousand times," he added.

Only one current professional in the Call of Duty League played these maps in a circuit back when MW2 was in rotation, and James "Clayster" Eubanks has been rather critical of the pool.

The legendary assault rifle star took aim at all of the Modern Warfare 2 maps, claiming the only good one was Terminal, while "the rest were buns," and people viewed them through "rose-tinted glasses."

He also argued with Jordan "JKap" Kaplan over Highrise and Scrapyard after his former teammate leapt to their defence.

JKap did admit "Skidrow and Estate sucked 14 years ago, shocked they’re not winning people over now," though.

Meanwhile, Clayster was more excited for the prospect of the upcoming Advanced Warfare collaboration.

Recently retired British stalwart Trei "Zer0" Morris joined Clayster and Envoy in the map-bashing too, adding, "I'm gonna say this in the nicest way possible, Favela is f*****g terrible."

CDL pros claim Modern Warfare 3 needs new spawns and visibility fixes

For the most part, the early Modern Warfare 3 build appears to be pretty positive, with a mixture of the Vanguard gunplay, Cold War TTK, and Modern Warfare maps and movement, a medley of everything good about Call of Duty.

Other slight grievances come in the form of visibility and spawns though.

Sam "Octane" Larew claimed that he was "enjoying the Beta", but one grip was that the "Visibility in general is poor," adding, "I’ve shot my teammates more than enemies."

Octane also claimed that the spawns are too random, although for pro play this might not be the same, given the different squad sizes.

The spawn criticism was also echoed by Damon "Karma" Barlow, who took to Twitter in a wild rant to say, "I think spawns are the worst I’ve ever seen in this Call of Duty."

With some minor tweaks to the gun meta, the spawns, and some UI though, Modern Warfare 3 looks to be shaping up quite nicely.
