When you think of cheaters in Modern Warfare 3 & Warzone, the first thing that comes to mind is aimbot users whose shots instantly lock onto any enemies in their path.

While these bad actors are easy to spot, some more cautious exploiters prefer to go under the radar by using tools to gain smaller advantages that are hard to identify.

This has recently come in the form of MnK players using third-party software to activate aim assist, giving them better accuracy in gunfights. Well, the devs have revealed that RICOCHET can now identify anyone unfairly using aim assist on mouse and keyboard.

MW3 devs reveal RICOCHET can now detect MnK players using aim assist

Taking to Twitter on January 16, the Call of Duty developers revealed that RICOCHET's "security detection systems now target players using tools to activate aim assist while using a mouse and keyboard."

While being a major step forward for creating fair matches and praised as a "huge W," some fans think the security system has other serious flaws that are more important to address.

Calling on them to fix the "shadowbans" and to focus on the cheaters using "Cronus" and "strike packs," it's clear RICOCHET still has a long way to go before the community is satisfied.

Not only that, but certain players are incredibly angry about the minor punishments being handed out to those unfairly using aim assist.

CoD fans are not happy with RICOCHET's "incredibly soft" punishments

According to the tweet, using aim assist on MnK will cause the "Call of Duty application will close if detected" and "Repeated use of these tools may lead to further account action."

This has been hit with heavy backlash from fans who don't understand the "soft" punishment for what they consider as outright cheating.

"Why aren't cheaters banned/suspended immediately? You're telling people they can freely exploit until they're detected and then they'll get a gentle warning," said one user, with another arguing, "They haven't a clue what they're doing letting people cheat at will, no wonder the game is full of cheats."

An improvement in the anti-cheat is certainly brilliant news, but it's obvious fans are confused as to why the devs are so cautious about bringing down the hammer on cheaters.
