Aside from the iconic M4, the Grau 5.56 might be the most-loved weapon of the modern era of Call of Duty, having been everybody's go-to gun in Warzone when it first launched in 2020.

The Assault Rifle was best known for its laser-like precision in the battle royale and Modern Warfare 2019, especially with its unique iron sights, exclusive to the weapon through certain barrels.

Now though, it's back, kind of...

Modern Warfare 3 sort of brings back the Grau 5.56

Modern Warfare Season 1 Reloaded has not been a success so far, actually going so bad as to be dubbed as the "worst update ever in Call of Duty".

But, problems aside, the update has seen the release of the HRM-9 submachine gun, and while there is a difference in range between that and the Grau, they pose one key similarity.

The HRM-9 in MW3 is blessed with the Grau 5.56 iron sights when you equip a certain attachment, which has already gone down as quite a treat for players in multiplayer, and soon will do on Warzone once the game-breaking glitches stop.

How to make your HRM-9 into the Grau in MW3

As found by popular Call of Duty content creator "Detonated", if you equip a long barrel to the submachine gun, the weapon will change its iron sights to one much closer to that of the Grau 5.56.

Older Warzone players will remember that this trick was also used to buff out the Grau, with the original iron sights being normal, but it appears there are multiple weapons out there which can have their barrels change to the thin and precise appearance we once loved.

Still, the HRM-9 won't be beaming players across Verdansk any time soon, but who's to say that this little brother of the Grau won't dominate every staircase and alleyway in Urzikstan?
