There are a lot of Killstreaks in Modern Warfare 3, from the menacing Swarm to the chaotic EMP, but nothing dispatches a single target like the Cruise Missile.
The fast-paced rocket feels simple to control and allows you to dive down onto a target, securing an easy kill.
Before Season 1, this almost guaranteed you an elimination whenever you earned one, but now, skilled players are shooting them down.
This can't be done with any normal weapon though - it requires a specific gun that's built for dealing with Killstreaks.
MW3 players are shooting down incoming Cruise Missiles
As showcased by the popular Call of Duty account ModernWarzone and demonstrated by xFleXy, it's now possible to shoot down incoming Cruise Missiles.
To pull this off, you'll need to run the Stormender launcher that was added in Season 1. This gun is unique as it doesn't shoot bullets or explosives, instead firing out an EMP blast.
This can be used to shoot down UAVs, enemy electronics, and of course, the Cruise Missile. When it comes to destroying an incoming rocket, you have to be extremely accurate.
It's all about timing, as you have to wait for the Cruise Missile to come into view before taking the shot. On top of that, you'll need to be a sharpshooter, as you only get one opportunity to hit the target because if you miss, it's lights out.
How to unlock Stormender in MW3 & Warzone
If you're interested in taking down Cruise Missiles in multiplayer, you'll need to unlock the Stormender and luckily, it's not very complicated.
To get the launcher, you need to obtain it from the A12 sector of the Season 1 Battle Pass. Once it's in hand, you'll have all the tools to deal with pesky killstreaks.
Just remember, the gun doesn't deal damage in MW3 so don't attempt to run it as your primary.
