Modern Warfare 3's Zombies mode is the definition of high risk high reward, with items being lost on death if you don't manage to escape the map.
While this adds to the fun of Operation Deadbolt and raises the stakes, it does mean that a disconnection can be a death sentence.
Well, that is unless you have a guardian angel who is willing to risk life and limb to successfully exfil your immobilised Operator.
One fortunate player had exactly that when their game crashed, with user uh_krazy deciding to pull off a Mission Impossible-style rescue.
Loyal MW3 Zombies player manges to exfil AFK teammate
During a recent MW3 Zombies match, uh_krazy ran into an AFK player "pleading for help on the freeway near Hadiqa Farms." Instead of leaving an ally behind, they decided to hop into a truck and push them all the way to Orlov Military Base despite being pursued by hordes of undead.
The 600m drive led them to the exifil location, but that was only the first objective of the rescue. Now, uh_krazy had to force the disconnected player into the back of the helicopter using a car.
After fighting off Zombies and crashing the vehicle into the back of the heli multiple times, they finally made it onto the ramp.
Then it was just a case of killing a few more Zombies, pulling off one more revive, and the AFK ally was flown off to safety.
MW3 community praises Zombies hero for doing "God's work"
Moments like this Call of Duty are brilliant, as it's great to see the community helping each other out in their time of need. Especially in a mode where dying can mean losing hours of progress and the AFK player could have had valuable items in their backpack.
After seeing the rescue, Zombies fans came together to praise uh_krazy for doing "god's work" and going the extra mile for a competitor in need.
"Upvote this man to the heavens, he’s doing god's work," said one user, with another claiming "This is the best clip of MWZ I’ve seen yet, absolute legend."
It's always great to see the community helping each other out, but this was a new level of loyalty that deserves a massive amount of respect.
