Celebrating Pokemon Day 2023, the Pokemon Presents stream ended up being the source of a big announcement for Pocket Monster fans with a Netflix subscription. It turns out that Netflix is making a stop-motion Pokemon animated Netflix series: Pokemon Concierge

What is Pokemon Concierge?

Described as a new venture between The Pokemon Company and the streaming giant, Netflix Vice President of Content APAC, Minyoung Kim, went on to explain that Pokemon Concierge is set at a Pokemon resort.

The story will follow the character of Haru, the namesake concierge, and the many other Pokemon who will visit the resort as guests. The series will be a new storyline that's said to expand the Pokemon universe with "ground-breaking stop-motion animation".

For now, we've only had a brief look at the series with a teaser featuring Psyduck, a young Haru who we assume to be Haru, and the Netflix series title card. As far as first impressions go, though, the result of Netflix's partnership with the creative team at Dwarf Studio looks gorgeous.

Pokemon Concierge definitely looks unique from other Pokemon animations we've seen before. We can give credit to Netflix Japan's mentioned "group of experts" whom are not only "passionate about finding and developing original stories from Japan that can excite audiences all over the world", but also "adapting fan-favourite stories and manga into extraordinary shows".

When is Pokemon Concierge coming out?

Unfortunately, we haven't been given a release date for Pokemon Concierge just yet. However, there's still the current Pokemon animated series to keep us going, even though the adventures of Ash and Pikachu will be soon be coming to an end

We still haven't learned anything new about the live-action Pokemon Netflix series which was in early development a couple of years back, according to Variety.
