Counter-Strike's skin metagame is one that can baffle outside fans, but there is a complete market here where single weapon camos can cost millions of dollars.
That was the case with one recent AK-47 Case Hardened Blue Gem skin, which is incredibly rare and, in this specific case, has a value of over $1,000,000.
Now, designers have created a full range of phone cases and console wraps based on the bountiful weapon. But there is a gambling slant to it, too.
Counter-Strike Phone Camos are on the craze after new DBrand drop
Â
Tech YouTuber MKBHD has partnered with DBrand to release new Counter-Strike-themed cases for phones, laptops, and consoles, including Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch wraps.
The appearance is based on that record-breaking AK-47 skin, boasting either a Case Hardened blue and orange look, or a stunning sleek Blue Gem colour.
Skins look to be selling for up to $40 depending on the product, cases for up to $65, and console wraps for up to $55.
CS2 fans are now gambling on phone skins
In true Counter-Strike fashion, there is also a gambling element to this endeavour.
As fans go to order these items, you are given the chance to open a crate. This will determine whether or not you will get a Case Hardened look, or a Blue Gem camo, with one 32 in every 1,000 crates and orders being granted Blue Gem.
That gives you a 0.032% chance of getting a Blue Gem phone skin, and that's enough for Counter-Strike fans.
It's likely these Blue Gem skins will soon be sold for more, but it looks like fans are ready to give it their all to walk around with a new Blue Gem iPhone 15.
