Fortune's Keep never got a true shot in the limelight in the legacy version of Warzone, having arrived just a mere few weeks before the game was eventually shut down in favour of the sequel.

But now Fortune's Keep is coming back with a twist, as Warzone Season 2 lands on February 7.

Ahead of its arrival, Call of Duty has now revealed the map in a new trailer, detailing the adapted layout of the island and its underground secrets.

New Fortune's Keep map revealed for Season 2

From the overhead shot of the new Fortune's Keep layout, there doesn't seem to be much change, but that isn't entirely true, and you have to look a bit deeper than the surface...

The initial changes that are visible are that "Grotto" from the original has now become "Ground Zero" as a lot of "Town" has collapsed in a heap of rubble and dust. The outskirts of the island have also been beefed out, with more detail on "Konni Outpost" and "Pier" (previously "Bay" and "Camp" respectively).

From the trailer though, it is evident that a lot more action will actually be underground, beneath the rock, accessible through the destroyed elements of the "Keep", Ground Zero, and the old "Smugglers Cove".

There are now many more descending levels to the map, including hidden bunkers filled with undead secrets.

New Fortune's Keep design includes Zombies and evolving map features

What's most evident from the Fortune's Keep reveal is that there are a bunch of new evolving elements to the map. The trailer shows players turning cogs to allow water to pour into the lower levels of the cave and Keep to flood enemies out or drown them within.

A sniper can also be seen activating a bridge via a well-placed shot to a control button, which will be a keen feature to control in the late game.

Another key part of the trailer is that Zombies are afoot in the bunker, and not just the rubbish target practice limbs either. Margwa's can be found in some bunkers, and so can their kryptonite; The Ray Gun is also hidden on the map, although it's not yet known whether players can actually take the plasma-shooting weapon out of the retreat and back onto the battlefield to use against enemies.

The newly-adapted map will also play host to Resurgence Ranked, which will air in Season 2.
