The Witcher 3 New-Gen Upgrade News Is Coming "Soon"
As fans have been wondering when to expect news on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S version of The Witcher 3, CD PROJEKT RED seem to have responded with a cryptic one-word teaser.
Responding to a fan's tweet wondering when we could see the newest iteration of the modern-classic fantasy title, the official Witcher Twitter account responded with the word "soon," accompanied by a winky face. This is not helpful, The Witcher.
After the announcement that the original The Witcher is getting a new-gen remake, it's remakes galore over at CDPR. Soon could mean anything, from tomorrow to months away, so there's a lot of room left for dastardly speculation. So, let's unpack this single-word response.
What Does The Witcher Mean By "Soon"?
Though this tease could truly mean anything, it's worth anticipating the new-gen upgrade of The Witcher 3 before Christmas. CD PROJEKT RED made a few promises after the pushback of the upgrade, namely that the game would be aiming for a launch in 2022. If the team doesn't reach it, there will be swathes of angry fans to deal with.
The Witcher 3 belongs on new-gen hardware, and it'll be great to see it finally make its arrival with all of its flashy visual upgrades along for the ride. It'll also be the end of a frustrating saga of waiting for fans who aren't exactly well-known for their patience.
