While you're typical sniper build in Modern Warfare 3 will feature a big scope capable of picking off enemies from afar, not everyone enjoys that play style.

Although long-range optics are still effective at close range if you can quickscope, it's often better to opt for an iron sight for the rapid ADS time.

Well, since the XRK Stalker released without an iron sight, players have been asking for one so they can start playing aggressively with the fan-favourite sniper.

Luckily, Season 2 Reloaded has delivered, and Sledgehammer has even taken inspiration from Black Ops 2's Ballista when creating the iron optic.

New XRK Stalker iron sight brings Black Ops 2's Ballista to MW3

Taking to the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, Sledgehammer decided to showcase the new XRK Stalker iron sight and it's safe to say it's got players excited.

Instead of just importing any old design, the devs have instead decided to bring back a slice of Black Ops 2 into Modern Warfare 3.

The default irons look exactly like Black Ops 2's Ballista and have resulted in a wave of nostalgia for competitors who loved that title back in the day. For those who don't remember or didn't play BO2, the Ballista was a powerful bolt-action sniper that dominated multiplayer.

"Literally the ballista, I love it," said one user, with another claiming "Holy, they actually listened and did it wahoo! Be amazing if they did it on every sniper riffle but hey don't knock a gift horse in the mouth."

How to unlock XRK Stalker iron sight in Warzone & MW3

XRK Stalker MW3

According to Sledgehammer, the XRK Stalker iron sight can be obtained by completing Armory Unlocks. However, there are currently a few issues preventing players from completing the challenge and equipping the attachment.

Fingers crossed this problem is resolved soon as you can guarantee there are a tonne of Black Ops 2 fans who are desperate to recreate the Ballista and start dominating their enemies in multiplayer.
