Here we go... there's a new Warzone map on the way in Season 4. Though it might seem redundant at this stage, with the new sequel to Call of Duty Warzone expected to arrive in 2022, the team at Raven Software has been maintaining the battle royale well until the big changeover.
As a part of this, a new Warzone map is on its way to the game. It's in efforts to bolster the game experience beyond Caldera, which is a map that is still pretty controversial among dedicated fans and those who simply miss the glory days of Verdansk. But now, there's a new battlefield on the horizon. But it might be replacing a fan-favourite.
What Is The New Warzone Map?
The official Call of Duty Twitter account has revealed the name of the new Warzone map that's set to land in-game during the upcoming season 4 - and it's called "Fortune's Keep."
The title was initially revealed after Call of Duty posted a small teaser, hinting that only eagle-eyed fans would be able to find the name. It has now been officially spelt out for fans to get excited about. That's not all we'll know by the end of today either, as a new teaser from the same account has called on fans to put their heads together to know more.
"Discover new riches in #FortunesKeep," reads a new tweet. "Help the community reveal the Tac Map later tonight." Who knows if this is alluding to an in-game event or another guessing game for Twitter, and we'll just have to wait and see. But some fans aren't sure what to think about the fact that a new map is coming.
Will Fortune's Keep Kill Rebirth Island
Some Warzone fans aren't particularly keen on the idea of a new map, because it amplifies the chances of the long-standing Rebirth Island map being replaced, in the short-term at best, or for the long-term at worst. In the wake of Verdansk's destruction, Caldera has hardly been the big win the CoDverse was hoping for.
A new map is bold from Raven at this stage in the game's life - but who knows, maybe it could surprise fans? But knowing them, they'll find a way to be mad about it. Warzone has become a dumping ground of cheaters, hacks, and glitches, with most people holding out for Warzone 2 to burn things to the ground and start again. Standard.
