After making the switch over to Apex Legends, Nick "NICKMERCS" Kolcheff has been stuck in Diamond and Masters ranks whilst his fellow streamers like Jack "CouRage" Dunlop had got their hands on the elite Apex Predator medal. Until now...
How Did NICKMERCS Reach Predator Level In Apex Legends?
With the switch in the Apex Legends Season 11 ranked mode to be hosted on the brand-new Storm Point map, NICKMERCS has now reached the top 750 players in the world and landed himself in the Apex Predator category.
Playing alongside Turner "Tfue" Tenney and Tom "72Hrs" Mulligan, the trio all secured Apex Predator rank with an array of wins on Storm Point, landing NICKMERCS as the 738th best in the world - Both Tfue and 72hrs landed a solid 40 places higher with a slightly higher sum of Ranked Points from their decisive game.
NICKMERCS made sure to outline that he "earned" the Predator badge, having recently been in a gunslinging match with CouRage. Nick previously claimed that CouRage was "carried" to Predator, playing alongside the likes of Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen, arguably the best competitive player on the game. ImperialHal was also the recent winner of NICKMERCS' MFAM Gauntlet on Apex Legends, playing with the full TSM roster.
Having argued with CouRage, NICKMERCS vowed to not play with previous Apex Predators to get to his desired rank, meaning his trio needed to grind through the ranks and learn the game off by heart, "earning" the Apex Predator medal.
What's Next For NICKMERCS Now He's Reached Predator Rank In Apex Legends?
NICKMERCS previously competed alongside the likes of Dennis "Cloakzy" Lapore, who also hadn't reached Apex Predator ranks, before switching back over to Call of Duty: Warzone.
Having formerly said that he will only play with distinct Apex Predators once he earns the rank himself, this may now see NICKMERCS collaborate with some of the best players in the game. G2 Esports's professional duo of Tyler "Dezignful" Gardner and Rigo "Gentrifyinq" Padilla teamed with Nick in his own Gauntlet, meaning he could team with the stars in future games, or opt to go down the route of content creators such as Timmy "iiTzTimmy" - albeit when Timmy's Iron to Immortal VALORANT marathon concludes.
The goal for NICKMERCS will now be sustained as an Apex Predator until the end of the season to earn the seasonal rewards, before seeing how the integration of Warzone's new Caldera map will affect his game time.
