If there's one guy who knows his Cluster Clinger from his Combat Shotgun, it's Tyler "Ninja" Blevins. The former blue-haired beau of Fortnite has dipped in and out of the game, but as the most-followed account on Twitch, he's still making bank by playing the battle royale favourite.
As the first streamer to be honoured in Fortnite's Icon Series, Ninja even has his own skin in-game. Fortnite has obviously evolved a lot since Ninja held that record-breaking stream with Drake, Travis Scott, and JuJu Smith-Schuster, but despite all the changes, there's one OG feature he isn't a fan of.
Ninja slams Build Mode 'children'
Like whether you support Team Black or Team Green in House of the Dragon, Manchester City or Manchester United, and Kamala or Trump, chances are you're firmly in the camp of Build Mode or Zero Build. Ninja has made his feelings clear, calling out the 'children' who play Build.
"It's astonishing that there are still children, right, because that's what they are, that are trying to gaslight me into thinking that I should be playing Builds," says Ninja. Continuing his rant, he said, "I’m 33 years old. I want 40 ping maximum. I’m never going to play builds again."
Saying he can't do it and he can't 'keep up', Ninja says he's proud of it. "It's garbage, I don't care," continued Ninja. "No one cares that you can crank 90s anymore bro, no one, not a single person on this planet...building used to get b*tches, it doesn't anymore."
"Literally the only people that talk sh*t about me not playing Build are actual five years olds, and I don't care about them either, I'll talk sh*t to their face...and their parents." In a particularly passionate rant, he concluded, "I'll yell at their parents for raising a freaking brain-rot child."
Ninja says he's playing for a different generation now, appealing to the ones who enjoy Zero Build. He also called out Ali "SypherPK" Hassan as the only OG streamer who plays Build Mode, joking that he thinks he hangs with the little ones.
There were plenty who agreed with Ninja, with one fan adding, "Even in my twenties I was shit at building in my thirties now and hell with builds. I come from FPS games and third-person shooters that have no building elements. I’ll stick with ZB."
Another said, "Nah he is right. I even tried building in creative lobbies but those kids just ruin it so bad that I don't play with them anymore," and a third concluded, "The best summary I’ve heard is that 'you shoot one bullet at someone and they instantly build a 5-star hotel.'"
There's definitely a feeling that casual players are being locked out of Build Mode these days, and not to take away from those who enjoy the sweaty nature of it, but if a GOAT like Ninja says he can't keep up, don't feel too mad about sticking to Zero Build.
