A huge portion of Starfield's story looks to have been confirmed by a leak, and for once, it's all thanks to Bethesda itself and the official Starfield lore.

We don't need to play Starfield to know that it's going to be a lot. Described by many as Skyrim in space - and assured by Bethesda that it is much bigger than that - the game's space theme has led to many fans seeing dramatic potential in the galaxy-faring adventure.

While we know for sure that Starfield is going to be a true time sink, all we need now is to learn more about the events of the world(s). Completely by accident, it now looks like we've got it thanks to Bethesda's official 300-year history of Stafield lore.

Starfield spoilers already seem to be out in the world

If you're pretty dedicated to going into Starfield completely blind, now is your time to hand over your Twitter password and bury your head in the sand, because it looks like some story details have been confirmed.

A new feature on the Starfield website has revealed the sci-fi favourite's timeline of the events. Unfortunately, it has accidentally confirmed that a months-old story rumour is true, which indicates that the other details that the leak offered fans are also true.

This means that a domino effect of features for Starfield is pouring out onto the internet. Brace yourselves. Over on Twitter, gamers are rushing to mute anything and everything related to the game ahead of its September 6 release.

What is the Starfield story leak?

The key art for Starfield.

The following is to be confirmed entirely, but it is expected to be a pretty massive spoiler for Starfield. If you want to avoid spoilers, turn back now.

The reveal of the Starfield universe history has one pretty massive omission when it comes to planets - and that's Earth. Naturally, humans are from Earth, and this seems to indicate that the planet isn't in the picture at all.

It seems to run hand-in-hand with the long-standing theory that Earth has long been destroyed in Starfield, meaning that the game will take place during a campaign for humanity to find a new home in the cosmos.

While this is unconfirmed, it's certainly a compelling theory that could lead to some big questions being asked in the Starfield story. We're ready to take up the mantle as captain and find humanity a new place to settle down.
