Call of Duty fans of old will remember the pain of loading up an Xbox 360 to get on Advanced Warfare - the super futuristic sci-fi title was so upbeat, the fan sounded like it was trying to take off to space itself before a crash landing and the odd red ring of death.
But there were many glorious nights of Call of Duty action that unfolded with an Xbox 360 pad in hand, pre-nerfed orange Lucozades on the desk, and a Turtle Beach headset equipped in both the Ghosts and Advanced Warfare eras.
Be warned, if you fancy re-living your youth, you're quickly running out of time. Apparently, both games are about to be permanently archived from the Xbox 360 stores.
Advanced Warfare and Ghosts To be Removed From Xbox 360 Marketplace
As of February 7, Microsoft is purging a mass collection of games from the Xbox 360 stores, including DLCs. Among the list of games are Call of Duty: Ghosts and Advanced Warfare.
After this, the games will only be able to be played by gamers who have the title installed already or who own the disks.
Of course, this only applies to the Xbox 360. Both games are available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 3 and 4, where they will stay in the marketplace.
Microsoft Is Removing A Mass Catalogue Of Classic Games
It's not just Advanced Warfare and Ghosts that are facing expulsion. Some timeless classics, such as The Witcher 2, Star Wars Battlefront, Skate 2, Mass Effect 2, CS:GO, and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, III, IV, and Liberation, will all join the CoD duo being removed.
The addition of the CoD games could open doors for these outings to be sprinkled out somewhere else though, as Microsoft prepares to begin its partnership with Nintendo.
Players have got until February 7 to get these superstar shooters downloaded and stored away forever, so if you want to throw it back with your splitscreen duo, you might want to dust off the old 360 before it's too late.
