Typically in Warzone, Assault Rifles are associated with long-range combat and beaming enemies down from afar. However, there are a few outliers that actually perform best at mid to close quarters and excel with a sniper support build.

Believe it or not, one of the best options for this type of AR is not an MW3 weapon, it's an OG option from Modern Warfare 2. WhosImmortal thinks it's time you pick this old school gun back up again as we head into Season 2, as its "ridiculously fast TTK" shouldn't be ignored.

When it comes to a sniper support AR, WhosImmortal claims there's "no better option" than MW2's Chimera, but the community is "sleeping" on the weapon at the moment.

One of the gun's biggest strengths is its "ridiculously fast TTK" in its first damage range, making it perfect for those intense close-quarter encounters. This means you're going to be rewarded if you're willing to take risks and play aggressively in enclosed spaces.

Another bonus for the Chimera is it has solid mobility when compared to your typical Assault Rifle. It may not offer the movement stats of an SMG, but you can certainly glide around Urzikstan with this gun.

Finally, the ADS time on this build is incredibly snappy, giving you the tools to lock onto a foe and always get the first shot off.

How popular is the Chimera in Warzone?

Chimera AR Warzone

If you're a player who's always on the hunt for weapons that are under the radar, then look no further than the Chimera.

According to WZStats, this AR has effectively been forgotten by the player base and only sports a 0.25% pick rate.

Maybe that will change as we head into Season 2, but it seems unlikely, given how unpopular all of the MW2 weapons are in the meta. Either way, this is a hidden gem that shouldn't be ignored and has the potential to net you a few extra wins.
