Although the medal of a dedicated Call of Duty fan has been stripped as midnight launches have been scrapped in this digital age, there's still a way for the absolutely devoted to wear a badge of pride.
Mastery Camos are now the flagship item owned by the sweats and die-hards, and one player has already unlocked the lot of them, three days after Modern Warfare 3 launched.
Twitch streamer Reidboyy becomes MW3's first Interstellar owner
The Modern Warfare 3 mastery camo grind is here, and just as we've set sail on the mission to get Diamond, Damascus, Orion, and the likeminded weapon wraps in the past, Interstellar has become the prize that all multiplayer fans are after.
But already, camo collector and Twitch streamer "Reidboyy" has broken speedrun records and racked up the first Interstellar camo in the world.
The streamer took to Twitter to reveal his progress, where he also has a pinned post sharing the same achievement in Modern Warfare 2, being the first in the world to do this feat in two different games.
How long does it take to unlock Interstellar in MW3?
If you solely play Modern Warfare 3 to get Interstellar, well, you're in for quite the grind, but it's clear to see that there is a possibility to do this in just three days worth of playing time.
Reidboyy completed his Interstellar grind in just under 76 hours straight of playing, undertaking the task in one session while on-stream - only settling for sleep and showers after the camo was unlocked.
Of course, you don't have to spend all your time up in one go, but it looks like the absolute minimum time you need to unlock Interstellar is just over three days worth.
Game modes such as War also appear to be quite a popular way of getting through challenges quickly, with a range of styles being allowed to be expressed, which can help with long shots or Tac Stance kills.
But remember, if you are on the Interstellar grind, please wash.
