Players Are Already Getting Tactical Nukes In Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is only just out, but a 'Mass Guided Bombs' Killstreak has been added as a Nuke to Infinity Ward's game.

Even though the methods of dropping a nuke have changed drastically since the Modern Warfare 2 (2009) system of UAV, Pavelow, AC130, and game over, the killstreak has persisted as a staple of Call of Duty play. It was feared that heading into MW2 this year, the nuke was being scrapped.

Usually awarded at 30 kills (a recent increase from what used to be 25), the tactical nuke awards players with a free win for surging on such a long killstreak. It's the ultimate flex for kill demons, even if it does discourage objective play in public playlists.

However, players quickly found out that there was no option for a nuke to be called in during the Modern Warfare 2 beta, leaving many to believe it was being scrapped. Well, thankfully, this is not the case, as players are already dropping nukes in MW2 before it is released.

Modern Warfare 2 Includes Tactical Nukes

Modern Warfare players have been breaking into the Modern Warfare 2 servers and have started farming bots or even accessing public playlists.

One video has now emerged of a player calling in a new tactical nuke killstreak named "Mass Guided Bombs," which completely ends the game and awards a win to the player who called it in. The nuke is a range of atomic bombs guided into the map, almost like a rolling thunder killstreak of old, although it covers the entire battleground and wipes everyone off the map.

Is The Modern Warfare 2 Nuke A 25 Killstreak?

Players who were hoping that they could get the MGB killstreak after 25 kills will be quite disappointed though, as the tactical nuke in Modern Warfare 2 is only available after 30 kills (as per Linesofpower on Twitch).

This makes MGBs near impossible to get on game modes like Team Deathmatch and instead encourages the 'Sentinel' style of gameplay on objective modes like Domination and Hardpoint. At least Modern Warfare 2 does have a nuke though, even if your chances of getting one this year are becoming increasingly difficult.
