Was Modern Warfare the best Call of Duty title of the last three years? Well, it might have had its flaws with multiplayer map design and debatable spawn systems, but it did have a belting collection of weapons and operators at its disposal.
Having seen Warzone take the Modern Warfare guns and operators into Verdansk to provide us with multiple different metas, the glory days are often yearned for.
With a blast of nostalgia being the only thing missing from Warzone right now, and a return to Verdansk seemingly off the cards before Warzone 2.0, fans are calling for a revisited gun meta by deleting all of the Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War guns from the game.
Warzone Players Want Vanguard And Black Ops Guns Gone
"If Raven deleted all CW and VG weapons and operators right now – I think Warzone would be in a great place," one fan has claimed on Reddit, which has quickly become quite a popular stance with other players on the social media platform.
The reasoning? Well, the post details many differentials with Warzone's old meta that helped for a better gameplay, including, "weapons with actual recoil, Roze is much brighter, balanced weapons. Great sounding and looking weapons. That would have been the ultimate holdover for MW2 and Warzone 2."
Alongside popular guns in the current day, the poster also wants Operators being shunned too, such as the recent Roze 2.0 that is being dubbed as a "pay to win" skin.
Would A Modern Warfare Only Warzone Mode Work?
While a return to Grau-zone would be quite fun on Caldera and Fortune's Keep, the limitations on the smaller gun pool might prove problematic with consistency. Instead, a LTM might be the best option here, allowing Raven Software to take a trip down memory lane with a revolving list of guns that were once in their prime.
However, some fans have identified some horrible eras of the Modern Warfare time too, including the painful duration of the Snakeshots Pistols and Fire Breath R9. "I swear people romanticize the MW era of Warzone, but there was plenty of broken sh*t during that time as well," said one player.
With Warzone 2 in the works, it might be in the interest of the developers to take us to on a nostalgia trip before every gun is deleted, and a fresh palette will be rolled out.
