Recently, it was revealed that Modern Warfare 2 (2022) is actually slower than both the original MW2 (2009) and MW3 (2011) titles in terms of strafe speed and movement speed, which is quite a startling statistic knowing just how far we've come in the franchise over the last decade.
Modern Warfare 2 has chopped down in the speed and aggression of the mechanics, most of which were intended to give slower-paced casual players a better chance against those high-flying veterans. Combined with loud footsteps and no Ninja perk, running around is simply not the play anymore, even in Warzone.
But this could be about to change, as Warzone Season 4 rushes around the corner and players are convinced that early footage shows an increase in movement and ADS times.
Warzone Season 4 footage suggests movement speed increase
Warzone Season 4 is already bringing increased health and removing AI as a major balance for the battle royale, and has been rumoured to be nerfing aim assist. All of which appeal to the majority of players who called on more wiggle-room in Warzone from simply aiming and killing.
Now, pre-released footage of Season 4 suggests that the base movement speed is being increased, allowing your Operators to skate around Vondel at a quicker pace than the previously sluggish mechanics.
The developers have not yet confirmed this change, with Season 4 patch notes pending, but content creators seem to be convinced.
Warzone fans would love a movement speed increase
Only time will tell whether this is actually a change coming to Warzone in Season 4, which is set to release today, on June 14. But fans appear to be noticing these movement changes in videos too, and have begun building their expectations up.
"ADS speeds seemed faster and so did base movement speeds even in your video," Hope added in another Tweet. "I thought I was tripping it does look faster to me too," one fan added.
Others are now excited for the release of Season 4, with comments such as "looks awesome, can't wait for Vondel to be added," populating the replies. Season 4 appears to be promising, but content creators will be staying quite tight-lipped on opinions given the backlash that they received for "hyping" Season 3...
